Proposed New Hospital

Sankar Foundation is on the threshold of a similar moment. We call it the NEXT BIG LEAP. Recoginising the services of Sankar Foundation, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has alienated 2 acres of land at Simhachalam in 2004 for establishing a state of the art New Eye Hospital.

None less than the Right Hon. John Major , former Prime Minister of Great Britain  laid the foundation stone for the building on March 9th 2005.

The Hospital is going to be a 150 bed state-of -the art facility which will serve the 10 million predominantly poor population located in the three neighbouring districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam.

•  All the sub specialties like Retina, Cornea, Paediatric and Low Vision.

•  A ground plus four storied structure.

•  Eight Operation theatres.

•  Area of the site: 8094 square meters

•  No of floors: ground + four

•  Total Built Up Area: 9513 square meters

•  Number of wards: 4

•  Number of Rooms: 27

•  Total Number of beds in all wards: 120

•  Total Number of beds in all rooms: 30
